The development of new media has led to a series of changes in the contemporary art scene related to the presentation of exhibitions and events. The changes within the artistic language itself initiated research into ways of collecting, archiving and protecting (new) media works of art. The question arises as to how contemporary art museums have responded to new challenges when it comes to collection development with the inclusion of media practices.
The “InterMedaArt” project deals with the research, collection and presentation of the previous work of the Centre for Intermedia and Digital Art MSUV, its collection of artworks and public activities (exhibitions, presentations, publications, guest appearances, etc.). The goal is to highlight the changes in museum art practice, as well as the possibility of active application of new solutions.

The results of the work will show examples and scope of collecting contemporary intermedia and digital works of art, with the use of art documentation. It is a project that can be seen as a specific platform for expressing different views and pointing out the challenges that the artists who deal with intermedia and digital art face.
The Centre for Intermedia and Digital Art was formed in 2013 with the aim of mapping, systematic study, collection, protection and presentation of intermedia practices and digital culture, such as: computer, net and web art, virtual reality art, video games, 3D animation, bioart, device art (DIY and DIWO practices), media installations, sound art, action, intervention, art in public space and performative forms of art (performance, body art, paratheatre...).
This exhibition continues a new cycle of presenting the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina, launched to mark its 60th anniversary.
